Like everywhere in the world the ethnic Chinese in Korat do celebrate the Chinese New Year, the Spring Festival, every year on the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunisolar year in the lunar calendar, usually in January. Downtown Korat around Yamo is all nicely decorated, there are speeches and, parades, dancing, food, drink and entertainment. The next will be on Friday, January 31, 2014.
